Shehrezad Faruk Czar

Founder of Newslington™ and West Wing House™. Business designer focused on building institutions, commercial systems and companies intended to operate at scale.

Shehrezad Faruk Czar’s work is centered on what he describes as business design: treating a company not simply as a product or service, but as an architecture of identity, ownership, distribution, institutions, commercial relationships and long-term command.

He traces that practice back to 1981, when, while still in his teens, he began working on the design of businesses rather than conventional feasibility reports. Over the decades that followed, his interests expanded across media, commerce, medicine, public-company architecture and the creation of new institutional models.

Newslington™ grew from that same approach. Rather than design another publication, Czar set out to design an entire journalism economy around the journalist: professional identity, news agencies and networks, geographic bureaus, chambers, press clubs, channels, capital infrastructure, education, reputation and integrity.

The central idea is that the people, cameras, stories and audiences already exist. What has been missing is an institutional system capable of connecting them. Newslington is intended to provide that system while allowing journalism itself to remain distributed across people, cities, subjects and networks.

Newslington is one of the companies developed within the wider West Wing House™ architecture, where the emphasis is on creating companies with a distinct doctrine, commercial structure and institutional purpose before placing them into operation.

The founder’s role is therefore not meant to become the product. The ambition is to build an institution capable of becoming much larger than the person who designed it.
